Welcome to a collaborative work between Biological Mimetics, Inc. (BMI) and North Dakota State University (NDSU) aimed at developing an improved porcine circovirus-2 (PCV2) vaccine.

Through a decade long collaboration, BMI and NDSU scientists have applied the Immune Refocusing Technology to design an improved novel PCV2 vaccine to stimulate better cross-protective immunity.

This work addresses an important need in the U.S. Pork Industry:  to protect animals from evolving and newly emerging strains of virus.

HJF AwardBMI seeks a manufacturing partner to bring this novel PCV2 vaccine to market.

The U.S. Pork Industry is of Key Importance for the U.S.:

  • Represents 550,000 jobs
  • Produces 23.2 billion pounds of pork
  • 110 millions of hogs
  • Is a $23.4 billion market*
  • Infectious diseases cause significant economic losses
  • PCV2 infections cause a number of diseases that reduce weight gain and decrease health status.
